Which Ooni ovens can be used with natural gas? 🇺🇸🇨🇦Updated 7 months ago

The only Ooni ovens that can be used with natural gas are [Ooni Koda

16](https://ooni.com/collections/ovens/products/ooni-koda-16), [Ooni Karu

16](https://ooni.com/products/ooni-karu-16) and [Ooni Koda 2 Max (Natural

Gas)](https://ooni.com/products/ooni-koda-2-max?variant=41547082563681). You

cannot use natural gas with [Ooni Koda

12](https://ooni.com/collections/ovens/products/ooni-koda), [Ooni Karu

12](https://ooni.com/collections/ovens/products/ooni-karu), and [Ooni Pro

16](https://ooni.com/products/ooni-pro) as these are propane burners only.



**To use Ooni Koda 16 with natural gas you have two options:**


**Option 1** : You can purchase the [Ooni Koda 16 (Natural Gas)

model](https://ooni.com/products/ooni-koda-16?variant=40170656464993). No

conversion kit is required with this model as it is designed to be connected

directly to your natural gas supply line.


**N****ote:** The natural gas-only model __**cannot**__ be converted to be

used with propane

The oven comes supplied with:


* Gas hose

* Pressure regulator suitable for gas lines over 5"WC

* 3/8" NPT female thread quick connector


You will need to ensure your natural gas supply terminal has a ⅜" male thread.

If this terminal is a different size, you can purchase an adaptor at your

local hardware store, such as Home Depot or Lowe's. If in doubt, please

consult with a local qualified gas technician.



**Option 2** : If you have purchased the [Ooni Koda 16 (Propane)

model](https://ooni.com/products/ooni-koda-16?variant=40170656432225), this

can be converted to be used with natural gas with the purchase of the [Ooni

Koda 16 Natural Gas Conversion Kit](https://ooni.com/products/ooni-natural-

gas-conversion-kit?_pos=4&_sid=8af55d535&_ss=r) (available in the US and

Canada only). This kits comes supplied with:


* Gas Hose

* 3/8" NPT female thread quick connector

* Natural gas nozzles

* Natural gas control dial collar

* Hex wrench and screwdriver

* Instruction manual


Apart from the parts supplied, you'll need to make sure you have:


* 19mm (¾") wrench

* 14mm (9/16") wrench

* Phillips head screwdriver


**Please check:**


1. Your gas pressure is 7iwc (Inches of Water Column). You can find this out by contacting your local natural gas supplier

2. Your natural gas supply line terminal (the output from your home) has a ⅜" male thread. If this terminal is a different size, you can purchase an adaptor at your local hardware store, such as Home Depot or Lowe's. If in doubt, please consult with a local qualified gas technician.

**Note** : We recommend you consult a local gas engineer to make sure you've

got everything you need for your specific requirements.

**To use Ooni Karu 16 with natural gas: **


You'll need to purchase the [Ooni Karu 16 Natural Gas

Burner](https://ooni.com/collections/gas-adaptors/products/ooni-

karu-16-natural-gas-burner) (available in the US and Canada only). This will

come with:


* Gas Burner

* Gas Hose

* Quick connector

* Instruction manual


You'll also need to ensure that your 'natural gas supply line termination'

(the output from your home) has a ⅜" male thread and that your gas pressure is

5iwc (Inches of Water Column) or above. If your natural gas supply line

termination does not have a ⅜" male thread, you can purchase an adaptor at

your local hardware store such as Home Depot or Lowe's.


To use the Ooni Karu 16 Natural Gas Burner, follow the installation steps

outlined in our

when using the natural gas burner.
