My Ooni Karu 16 thermometer is displaying 'LLL', 'HHH' or '---'.Updated 7 months ago

If your Ooni Karu 16 thermometer is displaying the following:

**' LLL' **_-_ the minimum internal temperature has been reached (ie. below

freezing). Allow your Karu 16 to increase in temperature for the thermometer

to display a reading.

**' HHH' **- the maximum internal temperature is reached, open Karu 16 door to

reduce the temperature within the oven.

**' \---'** \- This will display if the thermometer cable has not been

connected to the Jack Bracket.

If you find the problem is unrelated to the above, follow the below steps:

**Step 1. **Ensure the oven has cooled down completely.

**Step 2.** While wearing protective gloves, wipe down the thermocouple

(pictured below) with a dry paper towel. This will remove any soot or residue

that may prevent your thermocouple from reading an accurate temperature.


**Step 3.** Wipe down the thermocouple jack (pictured below) with a dry paper

towel. You can even use sandpaper to help roughen it up to create a more

substantial contact.


**Step 4. **If you still have issues after following the steps above, replace

the thermometer's batteries.
