I’m having trouble lighting my Ooni Pro 16 Gas Burner.Updated 7 months ago

**Before following the steps below, please read the following safety advice:**

* Always stand clear of your oven when igniting - ensure nobody is within 1 metre (3ft) of the front of the oven.

* Always allow 5-minute intervals between lighting attempts. This is to allow time for any gas to disperse.

* Always remove the fuel hatch and open the door when lighting the gas burner.

* Make sure to read through the safety manual for your gas burner. [US and Canada](https://cdn.brandfolder.io/54G1NFTL/at/63rxzqtxfhrsr8gpccb9jpz/ooni-pro-gas-burner-us-manual.pdf) or[ UK and Europe](https://cdn.brandfolder.io/54G1NFTL/at/2788fmmrcr7vj8gztv98f3p/ooni-pro-gas-burner-manual-eu37.pdf).

The following video has a step-by-step guide for firing up and getting the

best results from your Gas Burner for Ooni Pro:

If you're having trouble lighting your Gas Burner for Ooni Pro, begin by

detaching your regulator from your propane tank. Wait 5 minutes, then

reconnect your regulator to your propane tank and re-light.

If your gas burner isn't lighting after this, run through the checklist

below:

* Make sure your gas burner is set up correctly:

* The logo should be facing **upwards**

* The chimney should be **on**

* The chimney cap should be **off**

* The chimney baffle should be **closed**

* The ceiling vent should be **closed**

* You should be using the **pizza door** (not the full door)

* Make sure your propane tank is full.

* Make sure the connections to your propane tank and regulator are secure.

* Make sure there are no leaks in your gas hose by using a leak detector spray or by using soapy water (full instructions on how to do a gas leak test [here](https://support.ooni.com/en_us/how-do-i-perform-a-gas-leak-test-BJdijR_zj)).

* Make sure you're turning the gas control dial **very slowly (This should take 5 seconds**) and keeping the knob pushed in for a further 5 seconds after ignition.

**If you 've run through the checklist above and your gas burner still isn't

lighting:**

* **Detach your regulator from your propane tank and remove your gas burner.**

* Use a pair of pliers to reposition the piezo (ignition tip) so that it's 3mm away from the point of ignition. Make sure it's not **directly over a flame output hole** , but instead rests over the metal part of the burner:![](https://cdn.prod2.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/6319ecaeda8088b1182a29e8/c7cdf69cf25d12c399682bb4471d44f8.jpg)

* Re-attach your gas burner and light as normal.

**If your gas burner isn 't lighting but you can hear gas flowing, you can use

the provided matchstick holder to manually light your gas burner in the

meantime. Do not attempt to manually light the gas burner without the use of

the matchstick holder.**
