I’m having trouble lighting my Ooni Gas Burner.Updated 7 months ago

**Before following the steps below, please read the following safety advice:**

* Always stand clear of your oven when igniting - ensure nobody is within 1 metre (3ft) of the front of the oven.

* Always allow 5-minute intervals between lighting attempts. This is to allow time for any gas to disperse.

* Always remove the fuel hatch and open the door when lighting the gas burner.

* Make sure to read through the safety manual for your region:

* [US 28mbar - Gas Burner Manual](http://files.ooni.com/product-resources/ooni-gas-burner-manual-28mbar.pdf)

* [EU 30mbar - Gas Burner Manual](http://files.ooni.com/product-resources/ooni-gas-burner-manual-30mbar.pdf)

* [UK/EU 37mbar - Gas Burner Manual](http://files.ooni.com/product-resources/ooni-gas-burner-manual-37mbar.pdf)

* [EU 50mbar - Gas Burner Manual](http://files.ooni.com/product-resources/ooni-gas-burner-manual-50mbar.pdf)

**The following video has a step-by-step guide for firing up and getting the

best results from your Ooni Gas Burner:**

****

If you 're having trouble lighting your Ooni Gas Burner, begin by detaching

your regulator from your propane tank. Wait 5 minutes, then reconnect your

regulator to your propane tank and re-light.

**If your gas burner isn 't lighting after this, run through the checklist

below:**

* Make sure your gas burner is set up correctly:

* The logo should be facing **upwards**

* The door should be **off**

* The chimney should be **off**

* The chimney cap should be placed over the **hole** on the oven body

* Make sure your propane tank is** full.**

* Make sure the connections to your propane tank and regulator are** secure.**

* Make sure there are **no leaks** in your gas hose by using a leak detector spray or by using soapy water (full instructions on how to do a gas leak test [here](https://support.ooni.com/en_us/how-do-i-perform-a-gas-leak-test-BJdijR_zj)).

* Make sure you are taking 5 seconds to turn the control dial and keeping the knob pushed in for a further 5 seconds after ignition.

**If you 've run through the checklist above and your gas burner still isn't

lighting:**

* **Detach your regulator from your propane tank and remove your gas burner.**

* Use a pair of pliers to reposition the piezo (ignition tip) so that it's 3mm away from the point of ignition. Make sure it's not directly over a flame output hole, but instead rests over the metal part of the burner:

* Re-attach your gas burner and light as normal.

**If your oven isn 't lighting but you can hear gas flowing, you can use the

provided matchstick holder to manually light your gas burner in the meantime.

Do not attempt to manually light the gas burner without the use of the

matchstick holder.**
