How do I connect my gas burner's regulator to my gas bottle? (France only)Updated 9 months ago
If the regulator that was included with your Ooni gas burner doesn 't fit onto
your gas tank, you have two options.
**Source a new gas tank: **The 'Butagaz Cube' is a popular propane gas bottle
that is compatible with the Ooni-supplied 37mBar regulator. You can find more
information about it [here](https://www.butagaz.fr/bouteilles-de-gaz/cube-
propane).

**Switch the regulator: **If you don't want to source a new gas bottle, you
can source a new regulator to connect up to your preferred fitting of propane
gas bottle. If you do this, please ensure you use a 37mBar regulator to match
your oven. We also recommend using propane gas.
If swapping the regulator, always carry out a [_gas leak
test_](https://support.ooni.com/fr/come-si-esegue-una-prova-di-tenuta-del-gas-
BJdijR_zj) before firing up.
**If using butane**
Our products have been optimised for use with propane, but if you prefer to
use butane, you'll need to source a **28-30mbar** butane regulator that
connects to your butane gas bottle. This will look similar to the image below.

To swap the over the regulators, remove the 37mbar Ooni-supplied regulator
from the hose while keeping the hose connected to your gas burner. Secure the
new butane regulator onto the hose. It's important to perform a [_gas leak
test_](https://support.ooni.com/fr/come-si-esegue-una-prova-di-tenuta-del-gas-
BJdijR_zj) before firing up.
Please note that butane causes a sootier flame and it may take the oven longer
to heat up.
The '[Butagaz Cube](https://www.butagaz.fr/bouteilles-de-gaz/cube-propane)'
can also come with butane which will require a different regulator (similar to
the one pictured above). We recommend you consult a local gas expert to ensure
you have the correct regulator.
